ABOUT THIS BED

ABOUT THE ROOM
Front-Facing Tree & Neighborhood Views | Furnished Bed in a Shared Bedroom in Lakewood
Ng’ombe Room is a spacious, light-filled shared furnished bedroom positioned at the front of Suite 25, with multiple windows bringing natural light into the room and providing views toward Upham Street, mature neighborhood trees, and the surrounding residential setting. Original hardwood flooring, warm wood furnishings, and the room’s colorful Kenyan-inspired details create a comfortable setting for sleeping, working, reading, or simply unwinding.
Named Ng’ombe — Swahili for cow, the room’s identity draws from the important place cattle hold across many East African communities, where they have long been connected to livelihood, family, land, tradition, and everyday life. That story is reflected through a black-and-white East African landscape featuring cattle, complemented by a colorful Maasai-inspired canvas and additional wildlife and cultural accents.
Crimson window treatments bring warmth and contrast to the room, while the original hardwood floors and wood furnishings keep the space grounded and residential. A carved “Karibu Welcome” sign near the entrance adds another distinctly Kenyan touch and reinforces the room’s sense of welcome and connection to Kenyan roots.
The result is a room with a clear identity of its own: warm, colorful, practical, and rooted in a piece of East African life that fits naturally with the name Ng’ombe.
